Biography of the Prophet
A comment on confusion about the story of Sa‘d ibn al-Rabi‘ divorcing his wife so that ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn ‘Awf could marry her
I've learned that Islam teaches spouses to love one another and be attached to one another after Nikah and stay with each other with tranquility. But I have some confusions about a Hadith (Bukhari 3781) in which the Noble Sahaba Sa`d bin Ar-Rabi` offers to let go of many of his blessings so as to give them to Abdur Rahman bin Awf (May Allah be pleased with them both) including divorcing one of his wife's so that bin Awf could marry her after her iddah. My confusions are : 1) although the intention of bin Ar Rabi is very selfless, is it not unfair that his wife, who loves him much, would be made to separate with her husband, for no fault of hers, and be married off to a new man, possibly causing her great pain and turmoil because of the separation? 2) how is possible that a man can tell his wife to marry someone else after he divorces her? And is it the teaching of Islam, to divorce one's beloved wife by telling her that he is divorcing her because she should marry another man? Is this a legitimate reason? 3)If bin Ar Rabi did divorce one of his wives, and she refused to marry bin Ar Awf, then wouldn't it cause more damage than good? 4) in the Hadith, bin Ar Rabi tells bin Ar Rawf that he could chose from any of his two wives. Does Islam allow a non Mahram male to look at and chose from women who are already married? What is meant by “when he slept he used to breathe deeply” and “hearing him breathing deeply audibly”?
I read some hadiths about the way in which the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) slept. Some of the reports mention that his wives and companions would know that the Prophet was sleeping from his deep breathing or audible breathing. When I told one of the brothers about that, he said: This is not possible, because breathing deeply or aundibly is contrary to what we know of the perfect characteristics of the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), and if this were true, he would be aware of it, because he did not really sleep, and he would have dealt with it. How can we respond to this specious argument? Is it true that the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) chose to be addressed by Allah, may He be exalted, as an orphan?
Did Allah, may He be glorified and exalted, ask Sayyiduna Muhammad during the journey of the Isra’ and Mi‘raj: Would you like me to address you by the title of Ibrahim, al-Khalil (the close friend of Allah); or by the title of Musa, al-Kalim (the one to whom Allah spoke); or by the title of ‘Isa, ar-Ruh al-Qudus (the Holy Spirit), or what would you like? Sayyiduna Muhammad said: Address me as al-yateem (the orphan). So Allah said: By My might and My majesty, I shall surely raise you above all the Prophets, and I shall give to you until you are pleased? In what language did the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) lead the other prophets in prayer during the Isra’ (Night Journey)?
In which language muhammad lead the other Prophets in prayer in al-Masjid al-Aqsa?Did the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) see an army of Allah, may He be exalted, in the fourth heaven that had neither a beginning nor an end?
Did these hadith authentic? "Prophet muhammad saw a army of Allah in 4th heaven during isra wal miraj whose nor a beginning nor an end" "A animal of Allah whose one bite is of 7 heavens and the earth"Does Allah’s pleasure extend to all of those who swore allegiance at al-Hudaybiyah?
Is Allah pleased with all of those who swore allegiance beneath the tree (may Allah be pleased with them), as the verse indicates? Or were there some of the hypocrites who swore allegiance, or were there other exceptions? The lineage of the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him)
I have heard that there is a difference of scholarly opinion regarding the lineage of the Messenger (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), about the name of Ilyas, and that there are some who say that his name is Alyas or Liyas. I hope that you can tell me who regarded each view as more correct, and tell me the most correct of the scholarly views. How the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) interacted with his companions
How did the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) interact with his companions?Evidence for the truth of the Prophethood of Muhammad
There is a converted christian who does not believe in Quran. We had many arguments over this issue, still he does not believe in Muhammed being a prophet of God, . I somehow feel that I should help him in knowing the actual truth. Can you help me regarding this matter. He Believes in Bible completely and follows it and has memorised it . But is unable to understand the importance of Quran.Mankind’s need for Prophethood
what is the importance of prorhecy for the humanety? Why is faith in Prophethood so important? Is Muhammad peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) created from light? What is wrong with celebrating his birthday?
In our locality there are people who hold celebrations of the birthday of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) every year. They think that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) is not like the rest of mankind, but that he is light from the Light of Allaah Himself, that he is present and watching in every place, and that he himself attends every gathering held to celebrate his birthday, he hears what the people say about him, and he is there with them. For that reason they stand up and say in unison: “Yaa Nabi-Allaah, yaa Rasool-Allaah, yaa Habeeb-Allaah, salaam ‘alayka (O Prophet of Allaah, O Messenger of Allaah, O Beloved of Allaah, peace be upon you).” They call out to him as if he were present and ask for his help and support. What is the Islamic ruling on this? Is it correct or not? Is it sunnah, bid’ah, or what?WHY COMPANIONS DID NOT ASK PROPHET TO GIVE THEIR WEALTH TO HIM WHEN HE WAS POOR!?
WHEN HAZRAT MUHAMMAD SAW TIED STONE TO HIS STOMACH AND SAID TO COMPANION THAT HE NEVER SEE WHITE BREAD SO WHY COMPANIONS NOT ASKED FROM PROPHET TO GIVE HIM FOOD OR MONEY AND WHY PROPHET IS POOR AND ALLAH ALMIGHTY NOT GIVE HIM MONEY OR FOOD AND IF I WAS ON THAT DAY THAN I SPEND ALL MY PROPERTY TO PROPHET SO HE BECOME WEALTHY BUT WHY COMPANIONS NOT ASKED HIM SO PROPHET NOT TIED STONE!!The way in which the wives of the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) dealt with the inherent jealousy of women
Assalam alaikum Can you give any positive hadiths about friendship/love between the wives of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)? I have found one of Sawda giving her night to Aisha (masha Allah), but other hadiths I found were about jealousy or dislike. Alhamdullilah, I have a cowife who joined our family nearly 6 months ago. She is very dear to me and our husband and Allah has been most merciful. But alas, her family, who follow cultural norms rather than Islamic teachings, have caused much upset for my sister by insisting that I am unhappy that she has joined the family, that I'm jealous, etc. Astaghfirullah. By Allah's grace and mercy, none of this is true. I have met her family to try and ease this backbiting through witnessing. I was blessed to be a guest at their nikka, alhamdullilah :-) But it seems to be getting worse. Mostly, I hear claims that, Astaghfirullah, the Prophet's own wives were discontent, so how can any women today be. Of course I know that we are all what Allah allows us to be, subhanallah. But they ask for hadiths. They say the one about Sawda giving one of her nights to Aisha doesn't apply to us because I am younger than my co-wife. Can you recommend any hadiths? I am a revert and my Arabic is weak. In sha Allah, I am learning, but in the meantime some advice would be most appreciated. How did the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) braid his hair when it grew long?
I understand that our prophet braided his hair, is it possible to know how, (for example was it the ponytail that was braided)? Why did the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) and his two companions flee from the battlefield and hide in the cave?
According to Sahih Muslim, Book of Jihad & Expeditions, 4413. It has been reported on the authority of Anas b. Malik that (when the enemy got the upper hand) on the day of the Battle of Uhud, the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) was left with only seven men from the ansar and two men from the Quraish. When the enemy advanced towards him and overwhelmed him, he said: Whoso turns them away from us will attain Paradise or will be my Companion in Paradise. A man from the Ansar came forward and fought (the enemy) until he was killed. The enemy advanced and overwhelmed him again and he repeated the words: Whoso turns them away, from us will attain Paradise or will be my Companion in Paradise. A man from the Arsar came forward and fought until he was killed. This state continued until the seven Ansar were killed (one after the other). Now, the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said to his two Companions: We have not done justice to our Companions. Did the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) endanger the lives of those 7 Ansar to protect his own? That seems unfair. Why couldnt they all just hide or leave, since its OK to leave the battlefield if the enemy outnumbers tremendously. What is the wisdom behind this decision? And, why did the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) and his 2 companions leave the battle field & seek refuge in the cave?Refutation of those who say that before Prophethood the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) was just like other people
How should we react to people who say that the Prophet (Peace be upon Him) was just an ordinary man before Jibreel AS came to him when he was forty years old.How did the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) cast lots among his wives when he wanted to travel?
Many hadith mention the practice of casting lots during the time of the Prophet (may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). For example, when deciding which of the wives will accompany the Prophet on a journey, they would cast lots. Do we know how the casting of lots was done? Were the names pulled from a bowl, for example?Did the Sahaabah (may Allah be pleased with them) fast on the day of Badr?
did the sahabas at the time of the battle of Badr fast the holy month of Ramadan? when was ramadan made as an obligation to fast?Types of food and drink that the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) used to have for his iftaar and sahoor
I started to write some things having to do with the month of fasting on my Facebook and Twitter accounts, and I came across two issues that I want to make sure of. I heard that the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) encouraged us to eat an odd number of dates when breaking the fast. Is this true? How many should they be? What are the types of food and drink that the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) used to regularly consume in sahoor and iftaar during the month of Ramadan? To the best of my knowledge, he used to eat barley and dates, and drink water – what else was there? I hope that you can tell me, with evidence. He claims to have a hair of the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) and he wants to build a mosque in which to preserve it!
