There is an orphan whose family died, and we are taking care of him and looking after him, and we regard him as one of our children. As he has paternal uncles and people who wish him well, they give him money and we put this money with our money from which we spend on the household, but it may be more than we spend on him. What is the ruling on that?.

They are sponsoring an orphan and he gets a lot of charity
Question: 128761
Answer
Praise be to Allah, and peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allah and his family.
There is nothing wrong with you taking the charity that is given to him, if it is like what you spend on him or less. But if it is more than that, then you have to keep it for him, and remember that there is a great reward for looking after him and treating him kindly. End quote.
