If the alcohol in perfume is poisonous

Question: 3467

If the alcohol in which perfume is
dissolved is of a type that is poisonous, not intoxicating, is it permissible to use this
perfume?

Answer

Praise be to Allah, and peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allah and his family.

I put this question to our Shaykh, al-Mufti al-‘Allaamah ‘Abd al-‘Azeez ibn ‘Abd-Allaah ibn Baaz, who replied that it is permissible to use this as perfume, and there does not seem to be any reason not to do so. And Allaah knows best.
