Ruling on playing the role of a kaafir or the shaytaan
Question: 8926
In religious drama series we often see people playing the role of mushrikeen and speaking their words. What is the ruling on speaking the words of the mushrikeen?
Praise be to Allah, and peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allah and his family.
It is not permissible under any circumstances. The Muslim should not
make himself resemble a kaafir or mushrik who is an enemy of Allaah and
His Messenger, and of the Islamic religion. Neither should he make himself
resemble the Shaytaan or Iblees who is the enemy of mankind. It is not
permissible for a Muslim to do such things and speak the words of kufr by
playing the role of Abu Jahl or ‘Utbah ibn Rabee’ah or any such
person. And Allaah knows best.
