There are tapes of wedding nasheeds with men’s voices and the daff. Is it permissible to play these in women’s wedding parties?
We put this question to Shaykh Muhammad ibn Saalih al-‘Uthaymeen, may Allaah preserve him, who replied:
That is not permitted.
Sharee’ah allows women to play the daff in wedding parties, but not men. They (women) may play the daff and sing songs with good and permissible words.
