He did Hajj Qiraan and offered a sacrifice (udhiyah) but did not offer a hadiy

Question: 109272

A man did Hajj and ‘Umrah together with one ihraam (Qiraan) and he did all the rituals of Hajj, but during the days of Mina he slaughtered an udhiyah and did not offer a hadiy because of ignorance, until the days of Mina ended. Does he have to offer a hadiy?.

Answer

Praise be to Allah, and peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allah and his family.

If the situation is as described, he has to slaughter a hadiy for the Qiraan in Makkah, and he may eat some of it or he may delegate a trustworthy person to slaughter it on his behalf in Makkah al-Mukarramah; that which he slaughtered with the intention of offering an udhiyah does not count.

And Allaah is the Source of strength. May Allaah send blessings and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family and companions. End quote.
