He can never wear the ihraam garments because of the nature of his work

Question: 109289

I live in the Kingdom for work, and I intend to perform the obligatory duty of Hajj. My employer has appointed me this year to work in the holy places. My working there will not prevent me from performing all the rituals, but I will not be able to wear the ihraam garments because the nature of my work requires me to wear a uniform that is tailored. What should I do? Will my Hajj be valid if I offer a sacrifice instead of wearing ihraam during the days of Hajj?.

Answer

Praise be to Allah, and peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allah and his family.

If the situation is as described then your Hajj is valid, and there will be no sin on you for wearing clothing other than the ihraam garments, so as to ward off hardship from yourself. But you have to offer a fidyah for that, which is feeding six of the poor of the Haram, or slaughtering a sheep that is fit to be offered as a sacrifice and feeding its meat to the poor of Makkah or the rest of the sanctuary, but you should not eat any of it, or fasting for three days. Whichever you do will be acceptable. You have to do likewise for covering your head, if you cover your head.

And Allaah is the Source of strength. May Allaah send blessings and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family and companions. End quote.
