Musical tunes on cell phones are haram
Question: 13502
On many cell phones there are musical tunes. Is it permissible to select one of these tunes instead of the regular ringing?
Praise be to Allah, and peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allah and his family.
It is not permissible to use the musical tunes on telephones or any other kind of gadget, because listening to musical instruments is haram as is indicated by the evidence of sharee’ah. We should do without them and use the regular ringing. And Allah is the Source of strength.
May Allah bless our Prophet Muhammad and his family and companions, and grant them peace.
