If a man has an accident and his arm or leg is cut off, but he does not die, then what is to be done with this limb that was cut off from him? Should we wash it, offer the funeral prayer over it and bury it, or what should we do?
What should be done with regard to a limb that is severed from a human?

Praise be to Allah, and peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allah and his family.
If a limb is cut off from a living person for any reason, whether it is an accident or a hadd punishment or for any other reason, it is not to be washed and no funeral prayer is to be offered over it. Rather it should be wrapped in a piece of cloth and buried in the graveyard, or in clean land far from any place where it may be treated with disrespect or tampered with, if there is no graveyard nearby.
And Allah is the source of strength. May Allah send blessings and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family and companions. End quote.
