Does washing the deceased when he is frozen count as valid ghusl?

Question: 105360

A man died in the hospital and was placed in the refrigerator for three days, until the procedures for burial could be completed. After he was brought out of the refrigerator, he was frozen, and the person who does ghusl washed him as he was, which meant that it was not possible to sit him up or move him, so that if there was any gas in his stomach it would come out. What is the ruling on that?

Answer

Praise be to Allah, and peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allah and his family.

If the matter was as described, then the ghusl which was done for the deceased after he was brought out of the refrigerator was valid and counts as such.

And Allah is the source of strength. May Allah send blessings and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family and companions. End quote.
