About the virtues of surat al-Mulk, Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever reads Surat al-Mulk every night, Allah will protect him from the torment of the grave.”

Surat al-Kahf may be read during the night or the day of Friday (Jumu’ah). The night of Jumu’ah starts from sunset on Thursday, and the day of Jumu’ah ends at sunset. Therefore, the time for reading surat al-Kahf extends from sunset on Thursday to sunset on Friday.

There is no particular authentic text which speaks of the virtues of Surah Al-Jumu`ah. Rather it was narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to recite it in the first Rak`ah of the Jumu`ah prayer.
