It is haram for a Muslim woman to continue fasting when she is menstruating. If she gets her period while fasting, her fast is spoiled, even if the blood comes a moment before sunset, and she has to make that up if it was an obligatory fast.

1. The brownish discharge that comes after the period and after doing ghusl does not matter and is not regarded as menstruation. So your fast is still valid and you do not have to do ghusl after it comes out. 2. The brownish discharge does invalidate wudu. So if you did wudu for Fajr prayer after this came out, then your prayer is valid and you do not have to do anything. 3. If the brownish discharge came out after you did wudu and you did not repeat wudu, then you have to repeat that prayer because you prayed without wudu.

Any bleeding that resumes after the period is over is not menstrual blood. So you can pray, fast, do tawaf or any other acts of worship.

When a woman does not fast due to menstruation, she has to make up for the missed fasts. If she cannot fast, she has to feed one poor person for each day.

A pregnant Muslim woman is obliged to fast unless she fears for herself or for her baby, in which case it is permissible for her not to fast. For more, please see the detailed answer.

Each woman should act according to her own cycle. If a woman’s period normally lasts for seven days, and she becomes pure before that, then she should pray and fast, according to the more correct of the two scholarly opinions.

If a woman had an abortion before 80 days of pregnancy, then the blood she passes is not the blood of Nifas which does not stop her from praying and fasting, but she has to do Wudu for each prayer. If the abortion took place after the soul was breathed into the foetus, then the blood is definitely Nifas and she cannot pray or fast.

It is permissible for pregnant women not to fast in Ramadan. All they have to do is to make up the days they missed, whether they feared for themselves or their child.
