Can the person who washes the deceased tell others about good or bad signs?
Question: 12492
Can the person who washes the deceased tell others about good or bad signs?
Praise be to Allah, and peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allah and his family.
If there are good signs, there is nothing wrong with telling people
about them, but if there are bad signs, one should not do that, because
this is gheebah (gossip). But if the person says, “Some dead
people turn black” etc, that is OK. But he should not say, “I washed
So and so and I saw such and such” meaning bad signs, because that will
cause grief to his family and upset them, and this is gheebah.
