When did the adhaan begin?

Was the adhan    revealed by wahy or was it suggested by a sahaabi?

Should one say the Adhan and    recite aloud when praying alone?

It is recommended for the person who is praying alone to say the Adhan and Iqamah because of the general meaning of the reported Hadiths about them. Skipping them is considered disliked, but it does not invalidate the prayer.
