There is no specific number of Rak`ahs for Tarawih prayer, such that it is not allowed to do more or less than that. Whoever prays Tarawih with 30 Rak`ahs, or more or less than that, there is no blame on him, and he is not innovating by doing that.

1.. The reward mentioned in the hadith, “Whoever prays with the imam until he finishes, it will be recorded [as if] he spent the night in prayer”, is attained by praying behind the imam from the beginning of his prayer until he finishes. It cannot be attained by catching up with four rak‘ahs with him only, at the end of his prayer, even if the imam is going to leave after that. 2. But if your work circumstances do not allow you to pray all of Taraweeh in one mosque, then there is the hope that you will have the reward for your intention, accompanied by what you are able to do of actions.

1.. If countries differ with regard to the beginning of the month, then odd-numbered nights in one country will be even-numbered in another, but that does not mean that Laylat al-Qadr will occur on two different nights, such that a person could catch it in his country, then travel to another country and catch up with it again in that country. Rather it is one night. 2.. There is only one scenario in which someone could catch up with the same night twice, such as if Laylat al-Qadr is on the Tuesday night, and he catches up with it or with part of it, then he travels westwards; in that case he could catch it again, because the night begins earlier in the east.
